49-year-old woman struck by bullet that hit home in east Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Metro police are investigating a shooting in east Nashville Wednesday.
The incident occurred in the 800 block of Joseph Avenue at around 2 p.m.
Authorities say nine people were inside the home at the time of the shooting, including young children.
Metro police report that a gun was fired from behind the home and a bullet went through a house.
A fragment of the bullet struck a 49-year-old woman.
The victim was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries and is expected to be released shortly.
Her identity has not been released.
An investigation is currently underway.
